Dino & Tony's restaurant Rome

Has anyone been here lately? Can you tell me approx. what lunch or dinner would cost? Is it still as good as I've read? Any other suggestions for dining in the Vatican area?
Thanks

We were there in May 2007 at the recommendation of our son. We were intrigued with the experience, however have had better food elsewhere. I forget the cost. I think it was inexpensive to moderate. My idea of a great dining experience would be a small, comfortable, friendly atmosphere with classic, fresh, and simple Italian food. Although Dino and Tony's met some of the criteria it was a bit too frenetic for me and the food wasn't my favorite. That said, I'm glad we went and were entertained by the owner and his staff.

We ate there last November. We concur with opaldog's "review." It was about $40-$50 per person, not the greatest, and I wouldn't go out of my way to have dinner there again. The owner and his staff can be very entertaining, the food abundant, but that's about it.

$40-$50 per person?

We had lunch there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. It was 40 euro for both of us, including wine, lemoncello, zibibo (some sort of Sicilian liquer) and a desert tasting. Most of which was brought without our asking...

We thought the main attraction food-wise was the appetizers which were abundant if not great. For my money, I much preferred Orso 80 (where the appetizers are also an abundant feature) where in my opinion the food was far superior and the atmosphere just as inviting.

Having said that, if you were in the area of the Vatican, obviously Dino & Tony's is more convenient.

As far as cost, I think Orso 80 was more expensive but not that much...and I think worth any additional amount.
