Dinner Time in London/Restaurants Near Royal Horseguards

Hello! Please help:

1) What is the usual time for dinner in London?
2) Any recommended places to eat near the Royal Horseguards? (preferably budget places)

Thank you in advance!

Many casuale places serve all day - and you can have "dinner" at anytime - even 5 in the afternoon if you want.

If you're asking what time most people have dinner in a better restaurant - it's the same as in the US - usually 8pm or so - assuming you're also not going to the theater or something.

Thanks nytraveler. I wanted to be sure dinner time in London isn't the same as Italy where it's much later than here in the US!

Hi jmoy,

Stayed at Royal Horseguards. Ate at Sherlock Holmes Pub a couple of blocks away. Upstairs is a dining room with dinners--had primb rib, Yorkshire pudding and for dessert, Sticky Pudding--YUM!

Also ate lunch at St. Martin's in the Field-just a few blocks away, near Trafalgar Square. A real home-style cafeteria is in the basement--good casseroles, etc. and they serve wine. Lots of locals there too.

The food at "Inn the Park" in St.James's Park is quite good, for breakfast and tea too, less than 10 minutes walk through Horseguard Parade.

There are many budget places in Chinatown near Leicester Square.
