Dinner on a Boat in the Seine

My boyfriend and I are going to leave from NYC to Bologna on June 9th, however, we purposely are making a full day layover in Paris because we have been to Paris in the past as recently as last year. Last year, we didn't do the diner on a boat sailing down the Seine. After Paris, we leave for Bologna we will be there for a week while I will be daytripping to Florence, Milan, and St. Peters because my boyfriend has conferences then we will go to Venice and Rome together. Our final weekend we will spend it in Monterosso and come back to Bologna to leave to go back home in NYC.
I am glad I am communicating with everyone because you have such wonderful advice but in this stream it is to request info on dinner on a boat on the Seine.

Thank you.

Hi

This one was recommended in a travel forum - http://www.bateaux-mouches.fr/English_index.htm

From everything I've ever read, dinner on the boats is nothing special. You are better off going on a sunset boat ride (without dinner), then eating a nice dinner somewhere nearby.

Most people have recommended against the dinner cruise -- food terrible.

I recommend having dinner first and taking the sunset cruise Around 9:30-10:00pm with this company. You can download a coupon on the web site to save a couple of Euro each.

We did the dinner criuse on the Seine and it was fine, but if I had it to do over again, I would do a boat ride without dinner. It would have been a lot easier to enjoy the sites that way, not to mention less expensive.

Unless you are going to do a high end meal on smething like the Yachts de Paris almost to a person, they say it isn'tworth the cost.

Hi L,

We did a night time boat ride and it was the only disappointing activity of our 5 days in Paris. The engines were loud, and the pre-recorded sound system pointing out the sites was so poor and so loud, I just went and stood outside.
The boat was kind of dirty and the seats were lined up about 20 or more across. Not scenic or romantic.

I would just spend my time strolling along the banks on my own, with a good guidebook.
