Dinner in Trastevere

Can anyone recommend a great restaurant for dinner in Trastevere? We are not looking for fancy or trendy...simply for excellent Italian fare.

Alle Fratte di Trastevere. One of the most memorable dining experiences of my life. Not expensive.

Thanks Grinisa and Cimbrone. I am going to look these up.

One more question since you seem familiar with Trastevere: is there a boat I can take on the Tiber from near Castel Sant’Angelo to the Trastevere area? I think I read something about it and now I can't find the post.

Mario's, Da Augusto, a wonderful wine bar on via Lungaretta, not far from Piazza S. Maria. Dar Poeta and San Calisto for delish pizza. Bar Calisto is a really cool place for a very inexpensive caffe and cornetto and great people watching in a very busy little piazza.

My husband and I enjoyed Cave Canem
(I believe that's the spelling of it)
We ate there twice.

Sicilia al Tappo, Via Garibaldi 68, never been to Sicily but fell in love with the food, right in Trastevere.
