Dinner at CDG tomorrow
 

We arrive at 3 pm from Marseille into Terminal 2F. We fly out of Terminal 2D to Prague at 7:20 pm. Looking for somewhere to have dinner. It seems there are more places in 2F than in 2 D. Any place in particular that anyone can recommend - we don't want McDonalds or the like. How much time will we need to get from one to the other, any custom control to deal with (thinking not since we are starting and ending in France)?

"Recommend" is not exactly the word I'd choose, but Brasserie Flo in 2F is probably the best of several non-great choices. It's a sit-down place that makes believe that it's a nice restaurant, but in fact it's just a high-volume place that has better food and slightly better atmosphere than anywhere else nearby. I found it to be better than the restaurant in the Sheraton. If you want to have something lighter, a very good choice is the Paul shop that's between 2E and 2F IIRC, just above the Roissypole station. Reliably good ham and/or cheese on a good baguette, which you can chow down at one of the tables there. No customs, but security of course, which should not be at all bad at that time of day.

Most airport restaurants are nothing special. terminal 2F has better restaurants than 2D, anyway, which has nothing but fast-food type places, as far as I know.

2F has Maxim's and Brasserie Flo, I'd choose one of those.

I think you mean passport control, but I don't think there would be any given your situation because you are going to Prague. I'm not clear what you mean about ending in France if you are going to Prague. But I'm no expert, I just know that is in the Schengen zone although I haven't flown there in a a while from France to remember.

2D and 2F are right next to each other, it's only a few minutes to walk between them.

I meant that our first flight started in France and that we were obviously leaving from France.

This past July we had a very nice dinner at the Sheraton at the airport. They had a couple of different "styles" of places where you can dine.

I think you'll have customs control when you leave CDG. But we've never been held up by it.

"Leave CDG" but we aren't leaving perse, just switching terminals.

Nothing is more than 15 minutes away.

Brasserie Flo is a reliable brand. So is Noura if you like Lebanese food (in 2E I think).

We just finished eating at Brasserie Flo. Had pasta with shredded duck with a mushroom sauce, finished with shaved parmesan. It was good, we were hungry. It would have been great if it wasn't so expensive. 20€ but far better than McDonald's. Thank, all.

We have a 4 1/4 hr layover at CDG next July. Maybe I'll try Flo - but I don't want to spoil my appetite for the airline dinner!!!

that's funny, I don't consider 20 euro for dinner to be expensive, especially in an airport. I pay that much in Paris at one of their places (more, to be honest) for the main dish.

I thought it was 20E for a plate of duck pasta.. not the entire dinner.

Yes, Lin. It was just for the pasta. A la carte, nothing else.
