Dining at Adare Manor
 

We will be staying at Adare Manor the last evening of our trip. Do they have a restaurant/pub where a coat and tie would not be required? We're planning to pack light and really don't want to lug along the coat...but then again, don't want to have to leave this grand place to grab a bite to eat elsewhere. Thanks

Lee, check their website at: www.adaremanor.com<BR><BR>I would think that the pub might serve your needs. You might drop them an email if you're still wondering. The advantage of such a grand place is that the customer-service people there probably take answering guest inquiries seriously.

Lee, they have a nice pub in the basement. We did not eat at the pub, so I don't know about meals. We did eat at the Golf Club there (a short walk from the Manor) and it was very good. Both the pub and Golf Cub were casual attire.

That's great...I didn't know the golf club had a different restaurant. Sounds like the coat and tie can stay home! Thanks

There's also the restaurant at the Dunraven Arms Hotel which might be a bit less formal. I would email both to find out what the usual dress is. I don't think you'll need a tie, but you could bring a jacket and wear it for warmth in the evening as well as for a dinner.

I recently did eat at the Dunraven arms hotel. Dress was nice, but not fancy. I saw lots of men dressed in khakis and a pullover...it looked as if they had never changed from playing golf. <BR><BR>But you wouldn't look out of place if you did wear a coat/tie.

I just now received an email response from Adare Manor and here's what they say:<BR><BR>&quot;The Tack Room Pub does not serve food -- only libations! If you don't wish <BR>to dine in the formal dining room in the Manor, The Oak Room, where a jacket <BR>is required for gentlemen -- you could dine in the Clubhouse Bar. The <BR>Clubhouse is located approximately a 2 minute walk from the Manor. (It's <BR>where the Golf Pro Shop is). The attire in the Clubhouse is 'smart casual' -- and you would order off the Bistro Menu.&quot;<BR>Now we need to decide between the Clubhouse and Dunraven. Ah, choices!<BR><BR>

Having been to both, I would choose the Dunraven Arms. It's an old coaching inn on the main road through town, a nice walk if the weather is good from Adare Manor.
