I am debating of making a diner reservation at the Parador for a spectacular view of Alhambra and Generalife. In some reviews I have read how people praise Alhambra at night. Can you walk in certain areas of Alhambra at night without paying an entry from the Parador?

This visit would be in two weeks, which is at a time when the visit hours of Alhambra are shorter.

My recollection from a long time ago is that the parador overlooks the Alhambra but does not provide access to it.

Only ticketed areas of the Alhambra complex are the Generalife, the Alcazaba and the Nazrit Palace. All other areas are freely accessible, and during opening hours, the Charles V Palace.

You can certainly take a stroll along the paths that are outside the ticketed areas. The only part of the ticked areas open for night visit is the Nazrit Palace. Other than the private garden of the Parador, the accessible parts of the complex from the Parador are also open to the public.

No, you have to have a ticket to enter the Alhambra.

You will need to see when tickets are available and need to be purchased in advance.

do take the opportunity to visit the alhambra at night. they limit the no of visitors much more strictly at night so you get a much better and less crowded view of the palaces which are lovely when they are lit up.

because people eat so late in Spain, there is plenty of time to visit the alhambra, and then have dinner, but you should buy your ticket on line before your visit to ensure that you don't miss out.

The view from the outdoor dining terrace at the parador over the illuminated Alhambra is quite memorable; we found the dining experience including the entertainment well worth it as well.

You do not need a ticket to enter the Alhambra. You DO need a ticket to enter the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife, and the fortress. But the Alhambra is a large complex and there are many areas that are open for wandering without any ticket at all.

As Dukey said, the wonderful views are from the outdoor terrace. We did not eat in the dining room, but It did not seem like it would have great views.

We ate an (by Spain standards)early dinner and then walked around the portion of the Alhambra that is accessible in the evening without a ticket. It is beautifully lit. And it is spectacular both from the terrace of the parador and from downtown.

FYI, if you want to visit the Nasrid palaces at night [and they are far less crowded so you get to see so much more] you do need a ticket. That is the only part of the alhambra that is open at night apart from the public areas you need to walk through to get there - the Generalife, the fortress, and other buildings are all closed.

The Alhambra hours in November are 8:30 am - 18:00 (Monday to Sunday). I bought a ticket for the morning session with entry at the Nasrid Palace at 1:30.

At 18:00 the Nasrid palaces and the rest of the visitor area will close, but you can still walk around the general area, right? Is it safe?


Also, the Parador terrace would be closed at this time of the year. Is there a good view to Alhambra from inside of the dining area?
