Dijon and Marsannay

Taking a day trip to Dijon from Paris and would like to travel to Marsannay or another norther vineyard close to Dijon, any suggestions? Also we will take the train to Dijon what is the best way to get from Dijon to these Northern Vineyards?

Hi cf,

Do you want to visit a vineyard, or do you want to taste wine?

The latter can easily be done in Dijon.

For the former, I think you would need a car or take a tour.

Marsannay is about 15 km north of Dijon.

Hi,
Ira you must be talking about Marsannay-le-Bois which is north of Dijon. cf talked about Marsannay-la-Côte at the very beginning of the wine coast. It is famous for its rosé here.
I checked the city bus map and you can take one bus n°15 from Place Darcy (where you'll see what we call the Triumph Arc)to Marsannay. (a ticket is 0.95cts valid for one hour on any bus)

And on burgundywine website click on Marsannay in the list to know more about it((d)):

I chose (mistakenly, in hind sight) to pick up our car at "Dijon town" instead of rail station, and it was at Marsannay, which was about 10 km south of Dijon.

Hi Coco,

>Ira you must be talking about Marsannay-le-Bois which is north of Dijon. cf talked about Marsannay-la-Côte at the very beginning of the wine coast. <

I think that I may be excused for that, since cf asked, "what is the best way to get from Dijon to these Northern Vineyards?". :)

Hi Ira,
You're right, it can be misconstrued and cf surely meant Northern vineyards on the golden slope as Marsannay is the first one to start from Dijon to Beaune. :-)

Hi coco,

Is the route from Beaune to Dijon via the N74 and the D122 a good way to visit the wine towns?

Is there a better route?

Thanks

The D122 is THE route des grands crus. it is a small road parallel to RN74 which goes through all the famous villages and it is right into the heart of the vineyards.
RN 74 is the national road, it is quicker but not as nice. If cf (where is he/she?) stops in Marsannay, he/she won't enjoy the scenery along the road as it is just the beginning...
