Digital photographers: BIG favor.
I've narrowed down my camera choices and have pretty much decided on the Canon G6. There is one on ebay right now for $645 that comes with a ton of stuff - 512MB card, two tripods, a wide angle and telephoto lens, filters,...and more. WOuld anyone who knows about this stuff consider going on ebay and checking this out? I can get the camera alone for $385 or so, but with these lenses, it seems the ebay deal is pretty good. I just don't know much about lens quality, etc. I know this is a lot to ask, I really do. If no one can do this I understand. The auction closes in about 3 hours. It is now 1:34 central time. Thanks folks!

It may not always be as good a deal as you think. Don't get pressured into it.
Check fair value at a reputable merchant such as: http://www.bhphotovideo.com http://www.adorama.com http://www.amazon.com Also be leery of: -- "grey market" equipment, which do not have a valid USA warranty. -- possibly cheap crap accessories, which are often marketed as "lens for Canon" instead of "Canon brand lens with USA warranty". I've had a G6 for about 6 months, and have been quite pleased with it overall. |
Thanks TOm - Did you check it out? It does come with full warranties and all that. But even with just the 512 card it seems like it would be a good deal. I have more time to think about it, but it is tempting.
Thanks again for your time and reply. |
Tom - I see what you mean about "for Canon." Thanks. I'm going to pass on this one. Glad you like the G6; it was either that or the S70 for me.
Thanks again- |
