Difficulty communicating with Just Airports
A friend of mine is going to London with her parents so I recommended Just Airports to take them from LHR to the hotel. A few days ago my friend emailed Just Airports with a question about what type of car to use and they never replied. She emailed again and no reply so I was sure it was an email issue. I sent the same question from my hotmail account and I did get a reply, eventually.
She went ahead and made the booking on their web page and at the end she got a pop-up saying something like, "Your booking has been made, a confirmation will be sent in the next 12 hours." That was yesterday morning and no confirm came through. I emailed this morning to ask about her reservation. I got a reply saying they do not have this booking. I replied via email giving them all of the necessary info and asked them to please book it and send confirmation to both my address and hers. I thought they would give some type of reply to say they would take the booking via email. That was a few hours ago and we have received nothing. Has anyone else had this experience with Just Airports? It's becoming very frustrating. If anyone knows of another car service we are open to other ideas. Thanks. |
It's probably easier to call them and speak to a live person.

True, but it seems like an expensive call shouldn't be necessary in today's world. Now my friend is a bit concerned about their reliability since they have lost the reservation and they are scarcely replying.
|
I know, but maybe that's why their rates are cheaper than other car services?
Unless your friend doesn't have any sort of International calling plan, calling the UK should be fairly inexpensive. |
Calls to the UK are not expensive at all. Use a 10-10 number and it will only be a few ¢ a minute. I've made probably 8 or 10 calls to the UK in the last 6 weeks or so arranging things for our trip in May and have yet to hit $10 in total for all the calls.
I have heard of s few others having problems w/ e-mails from Just Airport - a minority, but it is not unheard of. your friend should phone them. Their good rates are worth the effort IMO. |
janis, which 10-10 number do you use? Can you tell me more about how this works?
|
I use 10-10-987 -- but there are others and some work for some phone companies better than others.
You don't need a "phone plan" - just dial 10 10 987 (or whatever) and then the rest of the phone number as usual. Including country code etc. No prompts or anything. It DOES make for some really long phone numbers though :) You can google 10 10 long distance or something like that to find sites to help select the best 10 10 number |
Thanks janis. Is there a flat fee to use this service or is it just $.10/minute?
|
Just a thought, but tell your friend to check their Spam folder. The response might be there. That happened to me the first time I booked with them.
|
Thanks Carry, that's always a good idea but we have done that, no luck. :-(
|
No fee - mine runs around 4 to 6 cents a minute - it may be different w/ different phone companies and 10-10 numbers. I use 987 simply because years ago when I learned about these numbers, 10-10-987 was the only one that worked w/ my phone exchange. ATT is the long distance carrier for my land line and the 10-10 cost shows on that statement at basically local toll call rates.

It happened to me. I just gave up and am using Simply Airports. About the same price.
