Different activities for a 4 year old in London & vicinity
We are going to london again next month. I'm looking for activities that would be fun for both a 4 year old and adults (one is 21). We went last year and struggled to find anything to do in the evenings after dinner except walk around Leicester Square for an hour and hang out in the hotel room watching movies. I am open to day trips out of london.
Can anyone please give me recommendations? Thought about a 2 day trip to Paris for Disneyland but think it might be too much traveling: Arrive London 15 Sept. Depart London 19 Sept Via Eurostar to Disneyland Paris. 2 nights in Disneyland 21 Sept - depart Disneyland Paris via Eurostar for London 22 Sept 7:55 AM flight back to US from heathrow 2 adults and a one 4 year old. I would like to browse paris for a day but the eurostar tickets from London to Paris are significantly more expensive than going directly to Disneyland. I know it would make more sense to fly directly from Paris to US but the miles tickets are not attractive times/stops. And yes, I hope to return to work on 23 sept. Thanks. |
Is your four-year-old a boy or a girl? Does he/she have any particular interests?

How about Legoland near Windsor?
|
Re nightlife for a four year old, not sure what you expect. There are occasionally plays geared to young people, more nearer Christmas. London Eye? It runs until 9 pm in Sept.

Eh? What would you all be doing at home? Why couldn't you do that here? |
Well since we are going to be on vacation, we would like to check out things to do. that's the point of going out.
Legoland is a great idea! |
I have a 4 year old girl. She likes to be busy and see things and do things.

I love the legoland idea. please let me know if there are any other fun places like this.

1) Day trip to Hampton Court Palace; 2) Perhaps a fancy British tea with cakes & finger sandwiches if she likes that kind of thing.

Victoria and Albert Children's Museum, parks (ducks, squirrels to feed), London Zoo, boating in Hyde Park, Hamley's Toy Shop, river cruise, Alton Towers.

Yes, but OP mentioned vicinity of London as well.
Closer to London is Thorpe Park, OP, if you're interested. And yes, the Natural History Museum is a good idea. |
Alton Towers in about 3 hours drive from Central London....and that's without traffic jams......

Check out London Duck Tours (just google the name). I have not done it, but it looks like it would be fun.
