Die Swan, Pand or Tuilerieen Hotel in Bruges?
We are interested in a small luxury hotel in Bruges. Has anyone stayed in these hotels. The Die Swan is part of the American Express Fine Hotel Program, including an upgrade. But I'm intriqued by the Pand and Tuilerieen which seem very nice. Thank you.

Isabelle
Also consider the Hotel Prinsenhof. It is a jewel of a hotel and we enjoyed it very much. Wonderful rooms, great breakfast service, and a wonderful location just steps from main square. They have a web site if you care to look at the hotel and its offerings. It may be found at http://www.prinsenhof.com/default.asp?lang=1.

When you look at the pictures of the rooms the second one on the list is the one we had. Great room on the upper floor with good views out over the city.
Check it out.

All three of these hotels are very nice and I sure whichever you choose. There is not a huge amount between them, although possibly de Tuilerieen has the slight edge. The Tuilerieen has a stylish reception and intimate lounge / bar with huge open fireplace. The Die Swaene is supposed to have a nice restaurant, although I haven't eaten there.

Die Swaene and Tuilerieën is right on a canal. The other ones aren't.
Tuilerieën would be my no. 1 choice.

Thanks to everyone for comments. I'm trying to book Tuilerieen and use Hotel Prinsenhof or Die Swaene as a backup.
Any local restaurant favorites for moules & frittes

I steered away from Die Swaene after a poster here told me they moved from their canal front room there because the loudspeakers on the boats drove them nuts -- starting early in the morning!

We couldn't get rooms at the Prinsenhof, but stayed at the Pandhotel in standard rooms which were very nice. Their deluxe rooms were fantastic. And their breakfasts cooked to order on an antique stove (egg dishes in individual skillets) were probably the best I've had in Europe. There were four of us and after raving about the fresh squeezed orange juice the first morning, they brought us a whole extra pitcher full each morning after that!

Thanks again......seems like the Tuilerieen, Pand or Hotel Prinsenhof are the best choices and maybe we'll go to the Die Swaene for dinner....
