Did any of you submit your LHW 1928 Hotel request today?

Just curious. We shall see what comes of this this time. I was able to fill out my form.

Should be fun if I really have been one of the chosen to stay at one of their hotels for $19.28 two nights!

well?? any luck anyone? I was awarded a hotel in cascais, not for the dates i wanted, nor the destination, but we are trying to swing going there.

My first choices were three hotels in italy. fourth choice was anywhere in europe, anytime, and that's what i got, in spite of being number 572.

has been quite interesting to follow a lot of the confirmations on FT.

Does anyone, besides me, not know what this is? I hope you'll explain. Thanks.

it might be back - this is from their website:

Thank you so much for your continued patience with The Leading Hotels of the World. We are extremely sorry for the inconveniences we have caused and regret to advise you that the USD 19.28 promotion has been postponed. (my italics - momliz)

Although our original back-up plan provided a viable solution for the 150,000 people who were registered, it was met with some confusion over submission procedures and timing. In addition, we have become increasingly concerned that a large number of non-registered respondents plan to submit forms which would inundate the system and greatly diminish your chances of securing a USD 19.28 rate.

We are sincerely committed to restoring your faith in our brand and do not want to risk disappointing you again. We are working tirelessly to develop a solution that will be fair for you and all registered participants. We will email you next week with further details.

Sincerely,

No, it is over and done. By october 30th everyone who signed up and participated should have a confirmation or a "sorry" email.

it was a race against the clock, filling out the form, but fun!

My two daughters took part.
One (no. 491) applied for two nights at the Alex in new York City for the 13th and 14th November only. The other applied for two nights at any one of 3 hotels in Venice on the 5th and 6th December only (No. 896) neither has heard anything.

We ARE able to use our two nights next week in Cascais. We will drive to Madrid to see friends, then fly the next morning with vueling to lisbon, rent a car and go to cascais to RELAX!

Flying back with Easyjet, then 3.5 hour drive back to valencia.

Should be fun.

I haven't heard anything yet. Hoping to get a weekend in Sedona or Carmel (non-European, I know) in late November or early December.

What was weird to me was that one of the choices was something like "any dates, any hotel." I wish I had the freedom and the finances to say, "Sure, pick any Leading Hotel of the World for any date from November 1 to December 15, and I'll be there."

actually, the any date, anywhere in "xxx" continent/region was the clincher for many since they did not operate this contest as previously planned.

we would have been presented with a calendar of AVAILABLE dates on their reservation site until we found something we liked.

the way it turned out.. who knows really which night/nights these participating hotels put into the blind pool of dates? it was a big guessing game.

at least they were kind to me by keeping it more or less nearby. ( not sure if it was intentional though!)

people are still getting emails. what number were you?

I was signed in for the contest...but when it failed, they sent me an email saying they will tell another date to send the request...and I've never recieved that, so I didn't send my request.

The last four digits on my response I got after I submitted my bid were 0607. I hope that's a good thing...

Apparently it wasn't good enough. No room at the inn for me.

Hope somebody else here was successful!
