Dickens Theme Park
 

What's the real story with this? Is it a recreation of Dickens' London or Disneylike theme park with rides?

First I've heard of it. Sounds dire: I should wait and see.

It's closer to the Disney thing than real life. Perhaps we should open theme parks for all our deeply boring authors. I'd love to go to Jane Bloody Austen World.

Terry Pratchett World might be quite fun, with the right sort of imagination behind it.

For a very specialised sort of taste, Ivy Compton Burnett World might be quite the thing. It would settle all those arguments about "high tea".

I want to go to Wodehouse world (and I definately don't want to go to Clive Barker World).

I like the idea of Pratchett world - it would be shaped like a giant turtle.

Hmm... Wodehouse World: for any fan of the Laurie/Fry TV adaptations, it's handy that the University of London Senate House might soon be needing another use...

..though I hear tell that Orwell World has first refusal on Room 101 there.

That could be fun. As you pass through the lobby, stentorian Aunt-voices freeze the marrow with cries of "BERTIE!!!!", and as you reach the first floor, Big Brother appears on a screen and calls everyone to surround the tourists in white shoes for a Two Minutes' Hate. After which you stumble in confusion into Room 101, where there's an elaborate head-cage contraption and a sinister scratching from the cupboard in the corner...

It sounds no worse than where I live: <font color="green">Kafka World</font> (aka Wash. DC)

Surely, in Kafka World, no-one knows how they came to get in, let alone how they get out...

You could throw bread rolls in the Drones experience, attempt to steal the cow creamer, avoid marrying Madeleine Basset and then sit down with soup to nuts at Anatole's restaurant.
