Dialing phone numbers overseas
I have rented a Blackberry Worldphone, and have set up different shuttle pick ups in different countries to transport our family. When the shuttle service asks for our phone #, do I need to add anything to the # so they can reach me? Let's say our phone # is: (212) 555-1000. How would a person in Spain or Italy dial this number? Thanks so much!

The usual syntax in Europe for adding the country code to your phone # is the "plus" symbol instead of "00":
+1 212 555 1000
Mobile phones like your Blackberry also understand/interpret the "+" as the intl access code, which is convenient when you have to make a phone call in countries where you don't know it since not all countries use "00" as the intl access code.

I just used my BlackBerry in France and it worked quite well although I couldn't tell you exactly what I did. What I did figure out is that the phone automatically switched to a French network so I didn't have to dial all the other numbers, i.e. it acted like a regular French phone. I think it was the same for others calling me, i.e. they didn't have to add all the other codes.
