Diacritical Remarks

I am really looking for CMT who made diacritical remarks some time ago and for whatever reason, I can't seem to duplicate the effect with my alpha bet. I have a dim recollection that I was actually able to form these diacriticals in some past life on this forum, but for whatever reason, and there may be no good reason, I am at a loss to form a simple tilda over an n. Please Help Me!

Yours, Dr. Betty

If you are using windows, select character map from accessories, click on the character in question, click select and then copy. Then go to the place where you wish to post the character and click edit->paste or
<ctrl> V.
e.g.
ñ
Hope that helps.

I think Rex could help us on this, but I am sure there are others. Dr. Betty, I remember someone teaching me how write in italics, but I've lost the thread that it was on.

God Bless, Dr. Betty? : ) ~MaryC

Not sure I understand the question but Alt 164 (on the number key pad) will give you ñ. Or Alt 165 for Ñ.

Nope - - in the current form of the software that runs this forum, italics do not work.
Thank you all for your replies, if only I could apply what you are telling me I would be on my way. The ALT 164 or 165, do I need to write the letter, highlight it and then do the Alt etc. or just do ALT 164 and it will magically appear? Let me try it here.
-/*- oh geeze, no good, how about n, no that doesn't work either. You people know so much and I have fogotten so much. Please provide the very basics for me to understand.
God Bless You All,
Dr. Betty
Maybe it doesn't work now.

ñ - - yes it seems to.

You hold down the ALT key, and then you MUST use the numeric keypad.
Dr. Betty Jan 14th, 2002 07:34 PM

Okay I got it now. It's all in the NumLock. Thanks for your patience.

And some others you might use often (yes just hold down Alt key while tapping the numbers on the number pad):

Alt 130 é
Alt 135 ç
Alt 155 ¢
Alt 156 £
Alt 248 °
Alt 246 ÷
Alt 171 ½
Alt 172 ¼
