Manchester airport to Luton airport?
For a family of 4 (2 kids - both 6 years old), what options do I have to change planes - coming into MAN and departing next day from London-Luton? Please give me some idea about the cost and journey times.
Thanks

Is there really a good reason for doing this?
There aren't any connecting planes, and the only direct bus leaves MAN about midnight: it's about a six hour bus journey. There are a couple of dozen buses a day, mostly changjng at Birmingham or somewhere more remote (nationalexpress.co.uk)
No direct trains: nationalrail.co.uk for a bewildering range of choices, of which the least painful involve getting a train from Manchester airport to Sheffield, then changing there and at Derby. About 4.5 hours that way. Costs depend on when you travel and how long in advance you boook
It's about 170 miles if you want to hire a car.
Can't you get a cheapo onward flight from Liverpool instead?

alanRow,
From Luton, I am going to Fez, Morocco on Ryanair. The cost of ticket comprises only taxes (come to about $75 return per person).
Flying with BMI from Chicago to Manchester. Although it is only a few more dollars to catch the connection onto London, the layover in MAN is 6 hours.
I wonder if renting car one-way is a reasonable option (never rented car in the UK, but have done so in some other European countries).
Right now it looks like, I would rather take BA to London or deal with the long layover.
Thanks for your feedback.
