Desperate for Hotel in Venice!!!!!!
I am hittin' the Venice scene in Oct. 01 and I can't seem to get a hotel room. I have tried a lot of your suggestions, Giorgione, Galleria, Accademia, American, La Calcina and they are full. I have found rooms at the Hotel Flora and Hotel Falier. I am trying not to spend more that 150USD a night and I need a double room. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any thoughts on Flora or Falier/ any others? Thank you!!!!!

If the Flora has a vacancy, it is accidental wonderfully good luck, and if I were you I'd grab it. <BR>I have stayed there. The rooms are mostly on the small side, some bathrooms are very small, but location is perfect, staff very helpful, there is an elevator, laundry service if you want it, and breakfast in a lovely courtyard on nice days. <BR>

I apologize, I did not mean to include Flora on my list. I had marked that one off! I am so bogged down with notes that I am starting to lose my mind! Turns out the Flora is a little out of my price range at 400,000 L a night. That is high for me. Thank you for your response though. I have also had the opportunity to search this forum and have found a couple more suggestions, but any information would be great. Any thoughts on Hotel Falier?

This hotel is central and falls within your budget, and they have availability from Oct 1 (I checked until the 5th but they probably have it for longer). I have not stayed here but its a 4 star and looks okay. <BR> <BR>http://www.srs-worldhotels.com/italy...el_vcebgr.html

Hi <BR>I had copied this into my Venice file a little while ago: <BR>From the New York Times, August 2001: Hotel Falier, near the train station at Salizzada San Panntalon 130 Santa Croce, phone 041 710882; fax 041 520 6554, www.hotelfalier.com. "Though the public rooms area considerably more opulent than the 19 spartan guest rooms, the friendly hotel offers pretty good value. Doubles $90-$136 including breakfast."

We are staying at the Hotel Marin ( but haven't been there) which is a Rick Steves pick at a very good price...and has been verified by this board as well...near the train station.

Try the Hotel San Barnaba in a wonderful location in Dorsoduro. Got great review from the NY Times. Email address is [email protected].

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Clare, I checked out the Hotel Bauer and it did not have a room available. I will be checking out the others after dinner. I'll let everyone know the availabilities in case someone else is looking. I will be in Venice October 11 through the 14. Again, thank you for your help! Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh, <BR> <BR>would love tohear what your found out, I will be in venice probably Oct 22-24 and am also trying all sites unde $140 & so far nothing. Good luck!

Suggest you try the Venice section of the venere.it site: http://www.venere.com/it/venezia/index.html.en <BR> <BR>It will allow you to type in your dates and the type of room you need, and will tell you what is available and the rate for your total stay. (You may want to call the hotel direct, though, as it can take a couple of days to get a confirmation if you book on line - and you'll want to know for sure that you have a booking ASAP!)

Hi. Try Hotel Locanda Fiorita. We stayed there last month and liked it, especially the location. It was about $150.00 for a triple.
|
Hi Ashleigh, <BR>To save your proble try with this deutsche girl who has been working in Italy fron many years.her name is Catherina , e-mail: [email protected] <BR>She halped me 2-3 times with good result. GOOD LUCK

Have you tried the charmingvenice.com site? Just submit your dates at any hotel you can and you will be bombarded (in a good way) by evey hotel who has a vacancy those days in your price range. I was very impressed with the service.

Ashleigh: Try the Al Piave. It is not on a canal, but it is close to San Marco. I stayed there two years ago and liked it very much. Take a look. I got it from Cheap Sleeps. They speak English and are very fast on emails: <BR>http://www.elmoro.com/alpiave/index.html

Ashleigh - Have a double for 2 nights in late October at the Hotel Iris. No idea if it's good or not; we've never been to Venice. Prompt e-mail replies (in English). Web site looks OK. It's in San Polo section. <BR>[email protected] <BR>www.italyhotel.com/it/venezia/iris/ <BR>240,000 lira per night, including breakfast. <BR>
