DESPARATE FOR NICE HOTELS
 

WILL BE IN NICE OCT 11-13 NEED A SAFE AREA AND HOTEL ARROUND $150.00 PER NTE. ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL MECURE MASSENA/????? <BR>

We were very happy with the Hotel Grimaldi. It's close to the one you mention, and unbelievably, with its stylish rooms and excellent service, under $100!

I stayed by myself in a lovely small hotel called the Bleu Marine Victoria ($85/night with buffet breakfast). Newly renovated, pretty decor, very clean, pleasant staff. It's on a tree-lined boulevard--Blvd. Victor Hugo 10 minutes walk from the train station and the sea in either direction. The area is very safe albeit touristy, and the hotel's only a couple of blocks away from the pedestrian zone, with lots of shopping and fun pizzerias with long communal tables.

I have a friend who stayed there this summer and she thought it was fine.

I neglected to mention the very pretty garden in the back, with a little breakfast terrace where you can eat in nice weather.
