Does anyone know about public transportation options from Siena (or Florence, if it's easier) to Deruta? Thanks!

I would love to know if anyone knows of transportation options to Deruta from Florence. Also, is this type of pottery available at all in the cities, or must you travel to the smaller towns, such as Deruta? I'm dying to get some pottery, but I don't know if it's worth taking a whole day away from Florence or Rome, as this is my first trip to Italy. Any suggestions?
