After fretting about stringent carry on limits from BA, Air France, etc, I called Delta (for an LA to Athens trip). <BR> <BR>The phone agent told me that each passenger is allowed 1 carry on weighing up to 40 lbs (!!), 45" total dimensions, and that camera bags would NOT be counted. <BR> <BR>If so, Delta will surely get my business (their fares were similar). My photo equipment alone would not have made BA's 13 lb limit. <BR> <BR>Anyone flown Delta to Europe recently, who can confirm these bag size & weight limits? <BR> <BR>Any other pros/ cons of Delta to Europe ?

I flew Delta from Atlanta to Paris last year. The seats were awful. The distance from seat back to the rear of the seat in front was less than the length of my femur so that I sat with my legs at a 45 degree angle the whole trip. Talk about life in a sardine can. A person 5 feet tall might have been comfortable, but at 5'11" I was not. (Pity the poor man who at 6'6" could barely fold up into the seat for take off and landing. He rode standing most of the way!) <BR>I don't give a rip what their carryon policy is. Torture is torture. And Delta excels at it. <BR>

Bob - <BR> <BR>sounds unpleasant..I'm same height as you. <BR> <BR>Delta flights I've taken LA to Orlando, FL over the years have seemed OK. Then again, it's only a 4.5 - 5 hr flight. <BR> <BR>I will check plane models carefully, on the optimistic assumption that Delta has all planes of the similar models configured alike.

I flew Delta NY-Paris last fall and agree about the tight seating. When the person in front of me reclined his seat <BR>I could not leave my seat without <BR>contorting myself, and even then I bumped the back of his seat every time <BR>(okay, okay, a little of the bumping might have been deliberate on my part, a little air rage due to the crowded conditions). When my grandparents came over on boats to cross the ocean, I believe this was called <BR>"traveling steerage".

Tom-each airplane has its own pitch for seats...... so I would recommend always trying to book the emergency exit row seating or by the exit doors so you can stretch out. Also,the aisle seats allow you more flexibility than a center or window seat.Debbie <BR>
