Define Europe
 

Should we limit the name Europe to exclude everything East of Berlin? Europe extends from Ireland to the Ural Mountains.

yes. Thank you.

That will be somewhat difficult since the country of Germany doesn't stop at the eastern edge of Berlin or would you prefer to call the part of Germany east of Berlin something other than just "Europe?"

Newfiveland, The East, The Zone, Estern Zone inhabited by Zonies, Over There, Erichs Reich, Erichs Banana Republic, Ossiland, Ohmygod, Gänsefleisch, Stasiland, Der Dumme Rest... ;-) ;-)
There are a zillion other names for that area, but fortunately those days are over.

And they are all still in Europe..absolutely amazing!!

Iceland is in Europe, too.

Then there's the old cop-out: "Europe is a state of mind."

Good point. FWIW, Fodor's considers all of Russia to be in Europe!

And the best representatives of Russia are on Fodor's :))
