decent hotel near BCN w/shuttle service

Would sure appreciate suggestions for a decent hotel not too pricey near BCN with free shuttle service. Have a 24 hour layover and not sure where to stay.
THANKS!

Barcelona is a mere 15-20 min. by taxi from the airport, so go enjoy downtown. There are plenty of posts here about Barcleona hotels and restaurants.

And better to define "not too pricey" as you will defintely be asked that.

http://www.booking.com/ shows many hotels at the airport.
Just got one for 63 Euros per nite with a shuttle.
Happy Traveling.

Best Western Alfa Aeropuerto(sp?) has a free shuttle from/to airport and also runs a scheduled shuttle to downtown Barcelona. At least they did when I was there couple of years ago. I paid about $60 for 1 night stay. It may be little more today. Not luxurious but clean, modern rooms. Restaurant and a bar on site. Not the greatest location as it's in a middle of a airport industrial park but for 1 night it's okay.

OTOH, you may consider taking the train from the airport to downtown Barcelona. Runs every 15 minutes or so and it's only about $3-4 each way. Many mid-range hotels available in the city.

Have fun planning and a great trip!

You have the Tryp at www.solmelia.com with free shuttle that also stops at the train station at airport, plus the Renaissance with shuttle. Either of these should be fine if you decide to stay at the airport.
