Decent and centrally located hotel in London

Hi everybody,

Can anybody recommend a decent and well-located hotel in London? My budget is no more than 100 pounds for a double room with breakfast.

Thanks.

You can try Byron Hotel at Bayswater. Was 110 incl. breakfast.
Two tube stations are near by, good service, amller rooms but clean.

Happy travelling,
Murat

£100 a night is usually well over the going rate for a four star on Priceline.

The (generally well-run, well-equipped, chain) places that come on to Priceline are partly motivated by the income opportunity from selling you overpriced internet access and breakfasts. They also (illegally) don't include VAT (17.5%) in the bids they accept. So bid at a price that assumes you'll eat (at about £5 a head) in the greasy spoon next noor, and that you'll have to pay an extra 17.5%.

But for that, you'll get a reliable place in the centre. Which is sometimes - but not at all always - what you get from smaller places.

Bland in a London hotel is good. "Characterful" might be fine in a 15th century country coaching inn, but is never a good thing in a jerry-built 19th century London doss house.

Oh, I made a mistake, I meant 100 Euros... sorry.

Anybody?

Thanks (again)!

you still should be able to get a 4* for 100 euros on Priceline

It annoys me a little when posters ask for hotels at some rate/currency other than that of the location. That just means an extra step for anyone trying to help the poster.

since €100 is just a bit over £70, I'd definitely recommend Priceline as well. You can easily get a 3.5 to 4 star hotel for less than that.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for info first. (BTW, when we say Priceline, we mean the "name your own price" feature, not just booking a hotel through PL)

I was in London last Christmas and stayed at the Apex Hotel (by Tower of London) for about 42 pounds per night/per room... but bought breakfast out. Check out the deals that are going around about this time. LondonTown website is a good one http://www.londontown.com/
