**Deauville ** Trouvill *or* Honfleur?

Which to see, which to sleep one night?

Are the "villes" smiliar, which to pick to see? Know of a nice, charming place to stay?

Honfleur sounds like a charming, "must see".
Heard of La Chaumiere in Honfleur? What type of place is it? Pricing? Interesting? Family owned? Know any other places to stay?
Thank you in advance.

I want to spend the night at Honfleur, too.I'm trying to decide on a hotel.I would prefer a small family run hotel, but the only ones I have found are large and fairly expensive.
Does anyone know how long a drive it is from Honfleur to Giverny?

Both Deauville and Honfleur will be busy this time of year. Both are "touristy" (in a nice way) and both are easy driving distance from Paris. Deauville is the closest beach to Paris and therefore very crowded on summer weekends. It is an upscale beach resort with several big, beautiful hotels and casinos, and quite sophisticated. Honfleur is an adorable port town, cosier and prettier. I would also plan to visit Etretat, which has stunning cliffs, if you are in that area. Both towns will probably be rather crowded and expensive for accomodations. I'd prefer to stay in Honfleur, personally. Don't know Trouville at all.

Answer to Sally- This is poster, Deb, and I just found a economical place you may consider: Hotel Du Dauphin, from 350 and up to 900. Karen Brown Inns Book says it's just off main square 100 m.from harbor, clean, basic, rooms priced accordingly, no restaurant, difficult parking but all in all, a simple budget hotel in an excellent location in picturesque port area. Hope this helps. Still trying to track La Chaumiere? HAS ANYBODY heard of this HOTEL?????
