DC-LON RT biz class $999 !!

Maxjet.com has an promo for DC to Stansted non-stop RT for $999 (includes all taxes/fees) BUSINESS class! I checked some of the busiest times such as July 4th, August and others. It doesn't matter when or how long you travel. These are actually competitive with coach class fares for peak times. Also a convenient jump-off point for connecting to budget that leave stansted for other European destinations. FYI.

I don't know if anyone has yet reported any experience flying Maxjet. It will be interesting to learn more, as this is an "all-business-class" configured 767 (2 x 2 x 2, all rows), and there is no information yet on seatguru.com as to the pitch of the seating configuration, nor the character of the seats.

Even other routes are reasonably affordable (for business class) with fares starting in the sub $1500 range (for summer) in these business-class seats.

Not even the maxjet website indicates how they offer their "business class service". The optimist in me is thinking that it is likely pretty similar to (the diminished glory of?) "first-class" service on most other competing airlines, serving this route.

Best wishes,

Rex

According to the website every seat is a full 60" pitch. The seats are all-leather and have full leg rests.

Sounds pretty good to me...

Topping just to emphasize that all non-stop summere coach fares WAS-LON are greater than $900. Upgrading to business class for less than $100 is a big deal. In fact, many non-coach fares in summer are OVER $1000. This promo on Maxjet.com is actually cheaper!

I'm not questioning that it's a good deal - - I am just hoping that this forum (as it typically does so well) will hopefully offer, sooner or later, some actual personal experience - - were the "amenities" of "superior" class what you expected? service? carry-on luggage space? entertainment?

Curious minds want to know.

OK..cattle car class for $900 or this for $900..how could it not be worth it unless you really hate flying into Stanstead?

Robespierre Feb 14th, 2006 08:38 AM

Hey, for that kind of value, I'd fly into Prestwick!

Thanks Gardyloo - looks like pretty impressive service all around. I especially like bypassing the lines.

Just booked some tickets. What a find! Reviews of this airline seem pretty good (at least the JFK-STN route). Regular ecoonomy tickets were running about $680 and premium economy about $950 at best.

Only worry is getting from LHR to STN. Our flight into LHR was changed a little, now leaving us with just over 4 hrs between flights instead of 4.5 hrs. I hope we make it! (It'll be early Sunday AM, non-bank holiday weekend.)
