KD - if you do that, check the www.megatrain.com site. Depending on the day you leave Salisbury, you can book seats on an evening train at just 10 pounds each Salisbury-London. We have used them with excellent results.

If you get to Bath on time (if you leave by 7:30 AM you will) consider the free 2 hour Mayor's walking tour for a fine overview of the city and some of its history. IMO it beats the hop on-off bus hands down. The tours are daily and leave from in front of the Pump Room at 10 AM.

BTW, Bath to Stonehenge is about an hour's drive (40 miles) and the last entrance is at 4 PM. Stonehenge to Salisbury is about a 20 minute drive. You would need to check about the time for turning the car in.

Consider adding Avebury (I like it as much or more than Stonehenge) and the nearby West Kennett Long Barrow.
