Daytrip from Budapest
 

I will be in Budapest next March and I was reading about The thermal lake in Heviz. How far is that from Budapest and what would be the best way to get there without a car?

I know you can go down along the shores Lake Balaton by bus, and Heviz is near the southern end of the lake. I haven't checked out bus schedules, but there will certainly be some bus routes that will take you there. There is also a railroad route along the lake, but I don't know where the stops are located. As for the thermal lake itself, I'm sorry I don't know any more about it.

Do you know about how long it takes to get there?

By bus, it should take about an hour and a half, plus whatever stops the bus makes on the way.
