Daytrip Algarve to Seville
Hello,
Has anyone daytripped from the Algarve to Seville? I understand it will be about 3 hours each way. It may sound crazy to some, but, I am ok with the driving and we already have all our accommodations booked. I have been to Spain before, not Seville, but my significant other hasn't and I thought this would at least be a taste for him. If you have done it, please tell me about your experience. We will be there in mid-August. Thank you! |
where from in Algarve - there are direct buses from many towns if not into driving and cities like Seville are not great for cars. And IME Seville's joys are partly at night in its flamenco places and the evening stroll. But if into driving could be fine.

From the Costa Vicentina- Odeceixe- which is further from Spain. We are considering just getting a cheap airbnb and spending the night.

Yes that would be great - otherwise few hours there not really worth the drive IMO.

Just a bummer as we are paid for that night in Odeceixe as well- at least we can leave our luggage there and return the next day.

Do not forget the toll for the A22 in Portugal must be prepaid (at the border I think)
http://www.portugaltolls.com/ Six hours, maybe more, in a car just to tick a box is really not worth it. |
Also remember that Seville in August sizzles, with afternoon temperature topping 40C/105F, and hardly anything is open between 1 pm and 5 pm, except bars, restaurants and a few major sights. Also some rental cars cannot be driven outside Portugal, or require pre-notification and payment of extra charge.
