Days Out Guide question

I will be in London from Sunday (2/5/10) until Wednesday (5/5/10). We will be traveling by train to and from Bath on Tuesday (4/5/10). I have printed out the 2-1 guide vouchers for the sights in Bath. I would like to use some of the vouchers for the London based sights prior to our trip to Bath. I know that I need to show the rail tickets along with the vouchers. My question is do I need to pick up the rail tickets on Sunday in order to use the vouchers on Sunday and Monday or will the sights accept the printed confirmation e-mail for the rail tickets? Thank you for your help.

The London vouchers are only valid on the day you travel by train into London - ie the 4th.

So in your case your vouchers will not be valid on the Sunday and Monday.

While you are picking up your train tickets, buy one day Travelcards from the TRAIN station booking office

While you are picking up your train tickets, buy one day Travelcards from the TRAIN station booking office...

... as they are valid for the 2-4-1 offers

alanRow - thank you very much for clarifying.

I have a similar question. I will be purchasing a return ticket on the train into London. I want to confirm that if I have the tickets/stubs for both train rides I can get the 2 for 1 on any days between those 2 dates, right?

If you buy a return ticket as opposed to two single tickets (one each way) then the ticket is valid between the two dates for the offers.

But Travelcards bought at a train station work just as well and you'd probably need one anyway

Thanks, alanRow. We are planning to buy the Travelcard as we will be using the Tube a lot. However, we are flying into Gatwick. From what info I can find, the Travelcard does not include the train from Gatwick, is that right?

Also, since the 2-4-1 only works if the Travelcard is purchased at a train station, does this mean from a counter with a person rather than a machine? We are flying in at midnight, and I'm assuming the ticket booths will be closed.

The 2for1 works with a Travelcard purchased at a NATIONAL RAIL station (anyplace where trains stop to allow entry or exit of passengers is a train station). If you're coming into Gatwick, you will either take the train to Victoria or London Bridge national rail station and you buy the Travelcard from a cashier for the national rail lines, not the Underground trains.

If a machine in the national rail station lobby of Victoria or London Bridge sells travelcards, it will be on the orange bordered paper card with a national rail symbol and will work for the 2for1s.
