Day trips from Positano

Hi all-
For our honeymoon in September, we're staying in Rome for 3 nights, then staying in Positano for 5 nights. Which day trips should we prioritize while in Positano? We're considering some combination of Capri, Ravello, Paestum, and Pompeii but are open to suggestions. (Since we are hiring a private car to get to Naples to fly home, perhaps we could do Paestum/Pompeii on the way?) Thanks!!

We just got back from our Honeymoon and spent 3 nights in Positano. I would recommend Ravello as a day trip. It's quite a ride up, but it's a beautiful town with a beautiful view. Capri was also nice and an easy trip via ferry. It's a bit more crowded than Ravello.

Hi berry,

You can't do Paestum and Pompeii at the same time.

Paestum is SE of Salerno, while Pompeii is N of Sorrento.

Paestum and Pompeii are in different directions. Paestum is incredible - it's worth a separate day trip and you shouldn't miss it. You could pick up Pompeii on the way back to Naples

Hi, We hired a private boat to take us up and down the coast, stopping to swim and eat at a little cafe on the cliffs. Very romantic and peaceful. I can not remember the name of the Co. it was on the main beach, Matteo was the boatman. Also the restaurant La Tagliata way up the hill from Positano was great, they will send a taxi for you. www.latagliata-positano.it.

Best wishes
