Day Trips from Paris
Hi all,
We will be in Paris for 4 days in May and were thinking about using one of the days for a daytrip. Can anyone recommend somewhere that is easily accessible within 2 or 3 hours each way either by train (or possibly shorter by air?) Perhaps somewhere we can do a wine tour or a beach we can get to? Or some little undiscovered town that is worth a visit while we are in France? We might be able to spend the night and come back the next morning too (but we would have to be back in Paris by around 10:00 AM for a 12:25 flight.) Thanks for your ideas! M |
For a fermented peregrination:
Reims, 45 min by train after June 10 - great town, fab cathedral and world-famous Champagne houses to tour the caves and sip in the tasting rooms. |
If the beach is your first choice, you could easily fly easyJet to Nice from either CDG or Orly. The beach at Nice is pebbly, but the beach at nearby Antibes is sandy. Depending upon what best fits your schedule, you could fly out of one Paris airport and into the other. See www.easyjet.com.

You could also take the train to Dijon or Beaune. You would be able to get back to Paris early enough in the morning to catch your plane. See the timetables at www.sncf.com and www.bahn.de.

I would take the train to Trouville and gorge on seafood before heaading for the beach.
