And isn't Schwangau so lovely - most folks trekking like lemmings to Newuschwanstein and back from train station never see it - again for others with more time and in warmer seasons Schwangau makes a great base for a few days - especially for folks who like to hike.

PalenQ--We are big hikers (DH and DS are serious mountain climbers as well), so I would love to know about the hiking in this area! We are already talking about going back:)
