Day trips from Hvar

Any thoughts on good day or half day excursions from Hvar? Also, does anyone have a website for tour agencies in Hvar that list their weekly schedule of trips?

I'm looking for the same answer. However, I prefer to go independently. Is there a fast catamaran in September to Korcula in the morning returning later in the day? And same for Bol & Vis?

I'm looking for the same thing- prefer independent day excurstions. Getting to the Pakleni Islands is easy (lots of water taxis waiting to take you from the Hvar Town harbor). It's defintitely worthwhile. We went to Palmijana where the vegetation is awesome and the beach scene pretty nice.
But getting to Bol, Vis and Korcula seem more complicated. Help.

In the Los Angeles Times travel section on Sunday, 4/23/06, there was an article on Croatia/Hvar/Dalmatian Coast. Perhaps you can access the article on-line...?

If you want to go to Bol - I wuld suggest doing an excursion from either stari Grad or Jelsa - the travel time is much less than from Hvar Grad. The tour agencies switch destinations with each other daily - for example, on monday tour agency A goes to Bol, tour agency B goes to Korcula - then tuesday they switch. There are a lot of tour agencies, one agency for sure with an office in Hvar:

Here's another website that might behelpful:

Syl -
check Jardolinija for catamarans. Though you could hire a boat - but it will be expensive. (A hotel on Vis wanted to charge $125 US to go from Vis to Hvar)
