Day trips from Frankfurt
 

Frankfurt as base for 4 days. After being in Frankfurt and Mainz a few times, we are looking for recommendations to go by train on day trips to other cities/towns.

Kronberg, Bad Homburg, Hochst, and Marberg would all be easy and interesting cities to visit from Frankfurt.

Wurzburg, Iphofen, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bamberg (two long ones), Heidelberg

Rothenburg was quite nice but we loved Heidelberg. It is still one of our favorite cities.

Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Bad Vilbel, Königstein, Giessen, Büdingen, and of course any number of towns along the Rhine. I too like Heidelberg a lot. Love the view from the castle.

Marburg, not -berg.

Do yourselves a favour and forget Gießen and Bad Vilbel.

Other, better options - Limburg, Wetzlar, Weilburg in the Lahn valley; Weinheim, Worms, Speyer, Fulda, Kassel with Wilhelmshöhe palace and park, Aschaffenburg.
