Day trip tour operator to Bath and Stonehenge

Can someone suggest a tour operator and their website for a day trip to Bath and Stonehenge? Thanks.

Take a look at: www.evanevans.co.uk/fullday.htm
I agree with the above post. We used Evan Evans and it was a nice tour.

Thank you, Wes and Heather.

Except for the fact I wished the tour was longer, it was very good. M.

If you're looking for a no frills tour for half the money, try Green Line. www.greenline.co.uk

You're basically buying a bus ticket for the day where they throw in a tour guide. The guide will be better and do more on an Evan Evans, where the Green Line will talk during the ride and setup your trip so you can go out on your own. (roman baths and Stonehenge site have their own guides/audio anyway) Evan Evans is GBP 50 compared to Green Line GBP 25. All up to what you want out of it and your budget.

Astral Travals tours offers several tours that include Stonehenge. IIRC, at least one of them also goes to Bath.

Another possibliity is to just hire a driver for the day. If there are several in your party, this can be cost-effective, and it has the advantage of letting you set your own pace and choose your own itinerary. London Transfers offers such a service, but I don't know the cost.

I am considering hiring a driver for a Bath and Stonehenge tour. However, we would like to be able to go to Stonehenge in the evening when you can walk among the stones. I have not been able to locate a site to make individual arrangements for this. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Hi-
I've done Astral Travels tours to Stonehenge twice in the last few years. The last one was one that went to Bath and the Costswolds as well. They are nice because they use small busses so the groups are limited in size. They also offer an evening tour once a week that allows you inside the ropes at Stonehenge.
If you want to see my trip go to
http://www.wired2theworld.com/LONDON2001.htm

Direct access is arranged through the custodians, English Heritage. Call (01980) 626267
or check out their web site and look for "private access" info at
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/d...de%26WCE%3D107
