day trip to Sienna from Florence

What is the best way to do a day trip to Sienna from Florence?

taking a train is really easy...and not expensive at all.

Just did it last monday. Took the train there because I missed the bus and the train stopped everywhere and took over 2 hours. It was like 5 Euro super cheap. Took the bus back from Siena to Florence a much prettier ride and only took an hour for 10 Euro. The bus is the SITA bus, or ES eurostar bus it's blue and you get it at the train station in Florence.

HI V,

The SITA bus leaves from ner the SMN station to the center of Siena. 13E RT.

The train station in Siena is about 1.5 km outside of town.

I, too, would recommend taking the SITA bus. But if you do end up on the train, there's a shuttle bus across the street from the train station in Siena that goes up/down the hill to centro frequently. Buy the shuttle ticket inside the train station.

Bus!!!It let's you off right near the center of town. The train is a total pain. It drops you outside of town and you still have to take a bus in.
