Compared to London, doubtful. The last time we went to Paris, it was colder than Edinburgh - and it snowed !

I have friends in south-east England who think nothing of going to Paris for lunch.

If i were taking a first-time visitor just for a day, I'd probably just wander round one or two areas to enjoy the ambience (plus eating & drinking of course), rather than trying to fit in any visits to museums, churches, tourist attractions etc. I'd probably spend time walking around the islands and Montmatre.
