Day trip: Paris to Tours (Loire Chateau visit)

Jump to last reply

After reading some recommendations on this forum and others, I've booked tickets on the RER from Paris to Tours (arriving around 8:30 am). We'll be leaving Tours back to Paris on the RER around 8:00 pm.

I've read that taking minivan tours from the city of Tours is a good way to get a taste of the chateaux (I don't want to rent a car). Is it best to book at all day tour? Or just a morning tour, so that we can explore the city of Tours a bit (without a car)? I'm tempted to book an acco-dispo all-day minivan--is there a better option that I'm missing?

Thank you in advance--we're going later this week.
