Day Trip: London to Paris

Will be in London mid May and early June. Looking for travel agency or other source to contact for a Day Trip from London to Paris. Would also consider an overnight in Paris. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What use is an agency?

Just go to the Eurostar site and buy a ticket. This board is full of strategies for doing that for next to nothing.

Yes, I agree. Go to eurostar website and research for yourself. It'll probably work out cheaper than going through an agency!

Hi C,

Go to www.eurostar.com
Enter your country as UK
Buy a one-day RT ticket
Your CC will be billed in GBP

>Would also consider an overnight in Paris.

An excellent idea.
Follow procedures as above.

Enjoy your visit.

www.eurostar.com is great but if you want to talk to someone who are Eurostar experts and will answer questions and search for lowest price i always recommend calling BETS (800-441-2387) for their expertise in my many Eurostar tickets from them. Price is the same as eurostar.com usually but the lady there i deal with at times comes up with something better somehow. In any case the day returns, about $97 can be very hard to book so book early - as long as 9 months in advance. When chosing day for day returns Fri Sat Sun these tickets can be impossible to book as Eurostar is now experiencing high load factors and if they can sell the ticket at a higher price they will. Mon-Thu are slack days when these fares are much more available.

Thank you all; I will research eurostar.com

Day Trip is doable, but it will be a very long day--you really need to catch the first two Eurostar and you won't have time for a leisurely dinner. I recommend overnight if possible. Just be aware that 26-28 May is a bank holiday weekend, so avoid this weekend if possible.

For a whirlwind bus tour of Paris (for €5.50), see this: http://tinyurl.com/ovpaw

Day returns on Eurostar are often available only on the very earliest trains, which bona fide day trippers would be taking so prepare for an early reveille. and they are much more available on weekedays.
