Day Tours From Athens In March
I will be traveling to Athens the second week of March 2005 and was wondering if I would be able to take any side trip guided tours? The reason I am asking is because when I checked into dates, and they only start in April. Is public transportation from Athens to surrounding cities easy to take?
Thanks!

We had a great time in Greece in March. We didn't take any guided tours, but there must be some available, because places like Delphi and Meteora had lots of buses. The weather was changable, but mostly great. We had a few chilly days, but once the sun came out it was beautiful. Greece in March was green and had flowers everywhere. There were no big crowds. We rented a car so didn't use public transportation.

I see that I responded to this thread a year ago when I was thinking of going to Greece in March. I did indeed go then with my daughter. We spent several nights in Athens at the Attalos hotel and took a four day tour to Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora.
I really liked Athens a lot. I have heard more negative opinions from people who visited in the summer, when it must be very hot. In March the weather was gorgeous, the wildflowers were just starting to bloom, and everyone was out walking around the wonderful pedestrianized areas near the acropolis and the ancient agora. I would have enjoyed an extra day in Athens. We did take a day trip to the island of Aegina.
