Day in Dresden?

We will be taking a train from Prague to Berlin and was wondering if Dresden if worth stopping at for a day?

Sure. It would even be worth a week.

You can enjoy anything as short as a few hours to a couple of days in Dresden. In summer, when the weather is nicer you can spend even longer exploring the surroundings.

Definitely make the stop - it's along the way anyway.

Hmm I don't know.... but if you do a search for the name of our Dresden expert, INGO, you'll find a ton of info about Dresden.

Dresden has undergone extensive renovation & rebuilding, you'll be amazed with what you'll discover in Dresden.

It looks like Ingo is not around to elaborate on why Dresden is worth a visit, so I shall attempt to since I've visited Dresden 3 times.

Dresden is a great destination, there's a lot of tourist attractions such as the Royal Green Vault (Royal treasures in the beautiful baroque royal complex in old town), the famous Frauenkirche, the famous Zwinger museum, the catholic church in front of the well known Semper Oper. Dresden is referred to as "Florence on the Elbe". There's also the castle Pilnitz along the Elbe river.

The new town across the river Elbe also has nice shopping boulevards to stroll. There is a lot to do in the area surrounding Dresden such as the Saxon Swiss National Park which has unusual rock formations, Meissen(Royal porcelain & castle), Radebeul(Karl May), Moritzburg (castle).
