Daughter traveling with friend to Europe
My daughter who is 17 is traveling around Europe this summer with her friend who is 18. They are going to Spain, Italy, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Ireland and England.
Is there some type of documentation that she will need from us allowing her to travel or will her passport be enough?

She will need an authorization from you and her father, since she is under 18. They may not ask for this when traveling between Schengen countries, but I know for a fact that they ask for it in the UK.

My daughter did the same. Traveling at 17 with a friend who was 19.
We had these papers made for her.
The only difference with what Tulips said is that I booked - and paid the hotels. Under the friend's name
Am I not a good father ? ;-)

Whathello, same thing for my son. He doesn't believe me when I say he's not an adult at 17...
They are also not allowed into clubs. They're strict about this in the UK and will check ID. Same in Amsterdam - no alcohol under 18, so clubs will not allow the 17-year old in. It's a nuisance when you're just under 18, and your friends are 18+.

Thanks! I found the Letter of Authorization. Since she is traveling to different Countries should I list the all in the space allocated or do separate forms for each Country?
Also, it asks for the address of those she will be staying with. Since they are moving about and staying in hostels, should I put various or list each location?
Thank you!

Best to err on the side of caution and do one for each country. Chances are the immigration official won't even look at the Letter of Authorization for the entry country but it's good to be ready for the worst case scenario. Paper is light.
I had to do this for my nephew when he came to visit but I don't remember the details of what was on the form. I just recall not needing to use them at all.
