Danube Dinner cruise recommendations?
 

We're leaving for Budapest next week and recognize that 3 days is a short time there. We've read that an evening dinner cruise on the Danube is a great way to get an overview (plus being beautiful), but there seems to be a WIDE range of options. Can you give us a recommendation of any particular tour company? We've been looking at the 2-hour evening cruises.

Try searching tripadvisor.com for dinner cruises in Budapest. A couple of them get very good reviews.

Mine was not a dinner cruise but did include a free glass of champagne

Sorry I missed this . . . I was abroad when you posted this and the night before you posted it, I had taken one of those dinner cruises . . . which was absolutely a highlight! We reviewed a host of different options and ended up getting reservations on the Legenda, since it allowed for a la carte dining and while it had a duo quietly singing in the background (mostly 60's to 80's American & British pop tunes), it didn't have a whole folkloric dancing or other big event that, to me, would have been a waste of the great views and money.

The food and drink, by the way, was surprisingly excellent, and the wait staff young and engaging.

The most difficult aspect of the cruise was getting to the dock, since the cruise docs are located on a busy quay and the walkway is all cobblestones. So, for those reading this who plan to do this in the future, opt for a taxi that will take you directly there, and best to avoid high heels!
