Dal Pescatore

Does anyone know this restaurant? I was there years ago - I think driving from Portofino to Verona but not sure - it was way out in the country. A fabulous place but can't remember where. Any body?

"Pescatore" is one of the most common names for restaurants all over Italy. A short search on Italian Yellow Pages found 162 restaurants named "Pescatore" or similar ("La baia dei pescatori", "La lanterna del pescatore" etc.), and I have not searched in the cathegory "Pizzerie" nor in the cathegory "Trattorie". The most famous "Pescatore" restaurant is run by Nadia and Antonio Santini in Canneto sull'Oglio, near Mantova.

I had not finished but the message was posted by a bad strike of keys.

This happens to be on one of the possible routes from Portofino to Verona, but it may not be the right one (http://www.dalpescatore.com).

It is cheap and some people like it. personally I do not like nouvelle cuisine, so that I do not like it, but it is a matter of personal tastes. Honestly I like much better the traditional cuisine of mantova, with its rich tastes and LOADS of butter!
