I guess its a matter of personal taste. Some of the things on their list didn't make my list. Here are the main London sites we visited:
Greenwich Royal Observatory - Maritime Museum - Churchill War Rooms - British Library - Tower of London - Windsor Castle - Buckingham (changing of the guard) - Big Ben (basically you just look at move on) - Parliament (again, just a look) - British Museum - Westminster Abbey (for a service)
I'd recommend them all, however I know we missed a bunch of good ones and if we went back we'd probably stay just as busy seeing all the stuff we missed on our recent trip.
I'm not really promoting myself (well not much) but if you are interested, I blogged our trip here: http://pastorscott2.blogspot.com/search/label/London

Well, they managed to miss any of the major museums (of which there re a ton), Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park and a plethora of other great places. At lest they didn;t include the London Dungeon or Mme Tussaud;s.

I'm British, live exactly 100 miles from Harrods LOL! I have been to London more times than I can remember, and this list puts me to shame because I've not seen/been to quite a few!
1. London Eye. Yes, I've done this 3 or 4 times now, loved it every time because I always see something different.
2. Tower of London. Terrific and well worth half a day.
3. Tower Bridge. Well, yes, I've seen it of course, but not visited the exhibit/museum.
4. St Paul's Cathedral. Do you know, I don't think I've ever been inside this fabulous building, even on a school trip to London years ago. Something I need to rectify - once the protesting w***ers go home and it's open to the public again!
5. Southbank Centre. Never been inside but seen it plenty of times from outside.
6. The Thames. I've 'cruised' up it from somewhere near Windsor, rowed on it near the source at Lechlade, and swum in it somewhere in Berkshire (a long time ago!), but never been on it in London. I have walked across it though, on some of the many bridges!
7. Royal Observatory at Greenwich. Wonderful and fascinating place, I'd go there again in a heartbeat. After all, it's where 'Time' began.
8. The O2. Hmm, not sure I'm very, if at all, interested in visiting here. Maybe if I really wanted to see someone or something then I'd make the effort. My DD saw Britney there last week, she didn't mention the arena afterwards, just the show itself.
9. Houses of Parliament. I once went to a wedding reception on the Commons Terrace. We had a bit of a tour as well. I think if you have an interest in politics then it might be interesting, and architecturally it is wonderful.
10. Buckingham Palace. I've not been, but consider this might well be worth a visit.
But what about all the other incredible London attractions, like Westminster Abbey, and all the fabulous museums (mostly free to enter). Oh well, it's all subjective, but this has made me realise that I need to see more of my country's treasures to avoid lagging behind the visitors.

The Victoria and Albert Museum has to be on your list. It is an incredible place, as is the Imperial War Museum. Depending on your age and nationality, the Churchill War Rooms is a very good choice as well. Buckingham Palace will probably not be open when you are there. It is only available to the public when the Queen is on holiday in Scotland - usually August and September, I think. If you like small museums, look up the Wallace Collection on Google.

This is, imo, an odd list. I would not go to either the O2 or Southbank except to a performance, which In the case of the Southbank, I have done to go to the National, many times. Nor would I go to the Hayward unless there was a special exhibit. Would certainly not rate those two or the Tower Bridge exhibition over the museums left off the list.

"the DT is really the UK as seen from Sark these days"
...which is a great deal closer to where the British live than New York (Murdoch), a villa in the south of France (Rothermere) or wherever in Russia the bloke who bought the Independent hangs out.
The FT is pretty much the only literate British national newspaper owned in Britain.
