Czech translation website?
Is anyone aware of a website that will translate from Czech into English? I went to Altavista, but they don't offer Czech as one of their language options.
I would like to translate the section titled Okenko do historie at the following website, if anyone can help - http://www.ckrumlov.cz/cz1250/aktual...kapzpr1202.htm The website has information about when my father-in-law and his crew were shot down over the Czech/Austrian border, near Kaplice, during WWII. Half the crew, including Dad, were rescued and sent to a POW camp - the other half of the crew were caught and murdered. If anyone can help me decipher this history lesson, I would be much appreciative. Peace. Robyn :)>- |
topping....with hopes someone can help me with translation. Thanks. Robyn :)>-

Artstuff, have you tried freetranslations.com? I have a friend who employs a Brazilain domestic and uses it every day to leave instructions for her help. Check it out.

Thanks, helenbreen, for the web link. Unfortunately, it does not offer Czech as an option. Peace.

I studied Czech a little and could probably make some of it out (with my grammars and dictionaries), but glanced it over and it's rather long and I think I wouldn't do it well or quickly.
www.travlang.com has an online Czech dictionary, in any case. That's not exactly a translator. They also have links to some products and if you really want to, there is something called a Universal Translator for $100 that claims to have Czech. The best resource I know is http://www.locallingo.com/ This is a website I participated on when I was studying Czech and it is devoted to the Czech language. If anyone can help you, they can. They have a message board (I don't see any online translators, it's for studying the language), and do have some translator recommendations if you wanted to pay someone to do it. There are probably some Czech speakers on here who may offer more help. If not, I can try to take a look at it next week if you followup a post on here and say you haven't gotten any help. |
Christina -
Thank you for the website recommendations. I will check them out. And thank you for the offer of maybe trying to decipher the page for me. I don't need the whole page done, just the one section with the 5 paragraphs. I am particularly curious as to what the photograph with the article might be. Thanks for any info that you might provide. Peace. Robyn :)>- |
Robyn, try this link. I Googled "translate Czech to English," and came up with, among others, the following:

Thank you, Betsy!!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Although it doesn't give a perfect translation, I'm able to pick up enough words to make some sense of the story.
Once again, the wonderful people at Fodors came through! This has to be the best forum in cyberspace. Have a wonderful weekend, what's left of it. Peace. Robyn :)>- |
Aw shucks, you're very welcome. :">
