I agree with the Cesky Krumlov recco, you can do that as a day trip from Prague. For "other cities" I don't know if you mean in the Czech Republic or further afield, but Prague has excellent air connections so you could go almost anywhere with a very short direct flight; and if you do an "open jaw" flight you could go back to teh US from your second destination thereby savng a return flight to Prague. Some palces to consdier would be:

St Petersburg Russia is 2.5 hours
Moscow is 2.5 hours
Riga, Latvia is 2 hours
Budapest is 1 hour
Vienna is 1 hour
Amsterdam is 1.5 hours
London is 2 hours

You need a visa for Russia, but a place like St Petersburg or Moscow is so interesting and you may not be that close again in terms of geography. I also love Riga, other places in teh Baltics would be close by air as well like Tallin in Estonia. Also note that days are quite short in Prague and other parts of northern Europe/Russia in late November, so bear this in mind when planning your sightseeing days. Go to sunrisesunset.com for info.

Go to Kutna Hora (sp?) and see the Bone Church. You can click on my name and see a trip report I did on the Czech Rep.

Also, you can drive down to Salzburg and visit the salt mine there. Very, very, fun trip. Again, in my trip report.

My husband and I fell head over heels in love with the Czech Republic and are really looking forward to a return trip there. Read more about it on this link.http://p104.ezboard.com/feuropetogof...icID=173.topic
