Czech Rep. in April 2-16

Is it worth the time and the money for Visas to also go to Poland ? Auschwitz?

Carolyn Mar 4th, 1998 10:29 AM

The answer is an astounding YES!! It isn't very expensive to get a visa and it isn't much of a hassle either. Krakow is getting touristy, but not as much as the rest of Eastern Europe (like Prague and Budapest). Auschwitz is a powerful place. Be prepared for an emotional response, regardless of your faith. If you make the trip, you'll be glad you did.

If you're a US citizen, you don't need a visa to visit Poland. From Prague, Krakow and Auschwitz are an easy, inexpensive overnight train ride, and I'd recommend taking the trip very highly. When you see Auschwitz, don't forget about Birkenau, just a few miles away.

I am Canadian and will be visiting Czech over Easter. Are there Special Easter Services in any
of the Cathedrals or Churches? Concerts ?
What are some must see places in Cz? We are probably going to have a car for part of the time.
What could we expect to spend for B&B, food,
some sightseeingfor two people?
