Czech itinerary help
 

Hi everyone,

I realise there are lots of suggested routes to explore Czech but I am a bit stuck as my cousin is getting married in the middle of our week there so we need to work around that.

We are 26 and 32. We want to have a nice relaxing, driving look around Czech with a few activities if they come up. We love quaint little towns, eating and drinking, a little bit of history, landmarks etc. Not realling into Museums (unless they are war or something quite original - not natural history!). I have been to Prague and Kumlov previously. I am not adverse to spending another day at these places however - both beautiful.

We fly in at 10.35am on Sunday 9 October to Prague and fly out Saturday 15 October at 4.20pm. My cousin is getting married at Zbiroh and we are staying there Tuesday and Wednesday nights so we really need to work around this. It would be good if anyone had some suggestions for a driving round trip from Prague for which this wouldnt be too far out of the way to incorporate in the middle. Will consider anything!

Have you heard about the town of Telc? Its a world heritage place and has one of the most beautiful town squares I've ever seen. Well worth a visit, couple of hours south of Prague.

Which one? One's near Ostrava, one's near Bardejov.

I agree with nz101 about Telc. It's located in Moravia, and is small, very pretty & does have one of the most beautiful town squares. There is a lovely castle & 2 ponds that you can walk around. If you have the time, you can drive to Znojomo & tour a wine cellar.

Another city to visit is Karlovy Vary, known for its spas & mineral springs. Architecturally, it is very different from Prague & Cesky Krumlov.

If you're looking for something around Prague, why not to try Kutna Hora - it takes one hour to get there and is pretty worth it - medieval historical centre and the cathedral of st. Barbara are listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
